Eric Forsberg will offer the PAINTING SEASCAPES IN OIL workshop on Saturday, April 18, 2026 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm at Addison Trail High School with the Addison Art Guild.
Learn to paint a seascape by painting along with maritime artist, Eric Forsberg. Bring a canvas and oil painting supplies or acrylics. Eric Forsberg has been painting for over 40 years and shows his work in galleries and invitational exhibitions across the nation. His current favorite subjects are historic ships at sea along the East Coast, the Great Lakes and the Indiana Dunes.

On May 9, Antonia Ruppert will conduct a Portrait Painting Workshop from 12:30 – 3:30 PM at Addison Trails High School for Addison Art Guild. Non-members are also invited to attend.
Chicago-born Antonia Ruppert is an artist, singer-songwriter and educator who has been painting for over 30 years. Growing up in Chicago’s Austin community, she creates works that speak to the intersection of faith, identity, and generational connectedness. Ruppert was a 2025 featured panelist for the Healing Arts conference at the UNGA, NYC, the 2023 honoree of
the Peggy A. Montes Unsung Heroine Award for Cook County, IL, 2022 Artist in Residence for the Addison Public Library and the 2021 Invest South/West Artist in Residence for Chicago’s Austin community. Ruppert's art and music was featured at the Harold Washington Library Center, The Chicago Public Library North Austin Branch Library and the Octagon Art Center in
Ames, Iowa in 2024. Ruppert has been featured in the Museum of Science and Industry Black Creativity Exhibition and Moraine Valley Community College. Her favorite paintings and murals can be found in numerous regional venues including Berwyn North District 98 elementary schools and the University of Chicago Hospitals.
Ruppert completed her MFA studies at Clark University and aspires to be the voice of her ancestors. And what particularly lights her up is seeing her art and music in spaces where her family was once denied.

APRIL 8, 2026 MEETING WITH COLOR PENCIL MAGIC WITH MARGARET BUCHOLZ
For the guild meeting on Wednesday, April 8, 2026 from 6:30 to 8:30 pm, AAG is happy to welcome their own Margaret Bucholz for a colored Pencil demo on black paper. This will be a hands-on demo so all in attendance can give it a try and follow along.
Black paper helps bring out the brilliance of colored pencil. You don't have to be afraid of the dark when sketching because the black paper supplies the darkest shadows and creates a mood.
Margaret Bucholz currently teaches Colored Pencil Magic at DuPage Art League and Addison Park District. All supplies are provided so try your hand with this exciting medium.
